Welcome to the Ranger Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution!

We serve the communities of Portsmouth, Newcastle, Rye, Hampton, and Greenland, New Hampshire.

Organized on June 24, 1929, by Dr. Martha Isabel Boger-Shattuck, the Ranger Chapter is one of twenty-five chapters in the New Hampshire State Organization Daughters of the American Revolution.

The chapter is named for the ship Ranger. Launched in 1777 and captained by John Paul Jones, the Ranger was the first ship to fly the American flag in the history of the Navy.

The Ranger Chapter meets on the second Monday of the month. Meetings are not held in January, February, July, and August. DAR was founded in 1890 with the simple mission of promoting historic preservation, education and patriotism. These timeless, overarching principles keep the DAR strong and vitally relevant in this ever-changing world.

This nonprofit, nonpolitical volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history and securing America's future through better education consists of over 1,000,000 members in over 3,000 chapters across the world.
